Part of the reason I’m starting this blog, now, is because I… develop in Ruby on Windows. There, I’ve said it.
I know, I know. Don’t think I haven’t considered switching to a Mac. I have my reasons though (that I will detail someday).
So yes, I’m still trying. And I keep hitting weird problems that seem to take lots and lots of google-fu.
And in the interest of trying to make these issues take less google-fu, and so that *I* have a place I can check to see if I’ve run into this issue before, I’m going to start posting them.

Welcome Carol!
You’re not alone and Ruby can be such exciting and lovely language that these things like Windows should not stop you!
As you know already, you can ask the guys at RubyInstaller group anything that help you get the job done:

I will personally try to answer as soon is possible.
Again, welcome to Ruby!
Thank you Luis! You are definitely one of the nicest people I’ve met so far in the online Ruby community — thank you for your outreach efforts and especially for your work with Ruby and Windows. I feel like most of the community just says “switch to mac or linux” and then forgets about Windows, but that’s shutting out so many potential users and contributors.
Honestly, sometimes I feel more out of place being on Windows than I do being a woman in the Ruby community ;)
Thank you so much.
